Dreams, Desires, Goals

So often we are busy just getting through the day that we forget that at one time we had dreams, desires and goals.  Do you know what your goals are for your life?  How often do you think about them? Perhaps you should take this challenge: think about what you see yourself doing in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years. Write down what you want out of your life.  Refuse to write about what is just possible…go for it and write about what you really, really want! Then rank the goals/dreams in order of importance to you. Make it a priority to work on the golas that are most important to you.

The next step is to figure out what you need to do to get there.  Ask yourself, “What do I need to be doing more? What do I need to do less?  What do I need to feel more?  What do I need to feel less? What do I need to think more? or less? Then write down the practical steps you need to take. You’ll probably find that this creates smaller goals that need to be achieved on your way to the larger ones.  What will motivate you to begin taking those practical steps? Do you need to enlist the help of a friend or mentor?  Do you need to gain more knowledge, take a class or workshop? I’m a list maker, so making a to-do list helps me to see my short-term goals, measure them, and feel a measure of success when I get to check things of the list! Whatever strategy works for you, keep at it.  share your goals with others.
